Along with humans, one of the other main races is the malakim, supernatural spirits whose wills are sealed and used by humans as slaves to utilize their magical abilities after being made visible to even normal humans due to the Advent, an incident three years prior to Velvet Crowe's escape from the prison island of Titania. Areas of land and islands in the game are divided into territories. There are countless numbers of islands around, and Midgand's rule crosses even the seas. The game's world is shared with Tales of Zestiria, though these events occur in the distant past. Tales of Berseria is a distant prequel to Tales of Zestiria. The main motif of the game is a conflict between emotion and reason. Ufotable produced the animated cutscenes for the game. The title was announced on Jduring the Tales of Festival 2015, while the localization was confirmed on December 21, 2015. Next up, Eleanor will be sporting a new DLC costume fitting of any member of royalty, as she has been given the standard outfit that Natalia Luzu Kimlasca-Lanvaldear wore in "Tales of the Abyss."
The first costume is for "Berseria's" main protagonist Velvet, and she will have an outfit inspired by none other than "Tales of Destiny's" determined, sword-wielding heroine Rutee Katrea. The DLC costumes can currently be seen over on the game's official website and there are six of them in total. Just like previous "Tales" games, the upcoming installment of the franchise will also feature some outfits inspired by other well-known characters who appeared earlier in the series.
